Once upon a time, there was a rose. His gardener called him Charlie.
Charlie loved the sunlight. It made him grow so big and bright that the gardener took great pride in him. He loved the gardener so much he spread his buds out and stretched his leaves, and the two lived in harmony for a while.
One day, the gardener plucked him from the ground, lovingly wrapped his roots in water, and brought him to a little shop. He made friends with all the other flowers, waiting for his gardener to come back. But he never came.
Charlie began to wonder about his gardener, but still did his best to spread his leaves and unfurl his buds. Many people admired him in his little corner, and one man took a particular interest in him. So, the man chopped off Charlie’s head and neck and took him home, presenting Charlie to his beloved.
Charlie was glad that his last breath of life was used as an expression of true love.
